24-Hour Rule   Print    

Part 1: 
GSCA members, including conference host theater(s), producers, distributors, and special interest groups shall not stage or host private invitation-only events during the 24-hour period immediately prior to the first official conference event. However, any GSCA-approved committees and special interest groups* may convene organizational meetings of their group during this 24-hour period. Private meetings during such period are, as has been the industry custom, acceptable. If a member operates its corporate business office in the same marketplace as the conference, then that member can conduct normal business activity at all times. (A corporate business office is defined as a facility that does not operate a public theater.)

Part 2:
GSCA members, including host theater(s) shall not stage or host private invitation-only film or video theatrical screenings during the conference. Private video presentations on television monitors are allowed. Special theatrical screening times may be available for non-private events through the GSCA for a special fee. Private meetings during such period are, as has been the industry custom, acceptable. If a member operates its corporate business office in the same marketplace as the conference, then that member can conduct normal business activity at all times. (A corporate business office is defined as a facility that does not operate a public theater.)

Part 3: 
GSCA members, including producers, distributors, or special interest group shall not host a private event involving members or other special interest groups that conflicts in any way with a regular conference event unless approved by the GSCA President acting on behalf of the GSCA Board of Directors. Private meetings during these times are, as has been the industry custom, acceptable.

Part 4:
The GSCA President, acting on behalf of the GSCA Board of Directors shall officially determine and announce the first event of the conference and the last event of the conference no later than 60 days prior to the first conference day.

  • Distributors Interest Group
  • Dome Alliance
  • Euromax
  • GSCA Board and subcommittees
  • Film Interest Group
  • Museum Film Network
  • Oh-Gata
