GSCA International Conference and Trade Show
The GSCA International Conference and Trade Show will be September 25–27, 2010, in Chattanooga, TN. The Conference has approximately 500 attendees. The primary purpose of this conference is to view films, including new films and films that are in production and development; highlight technical advances in the industry; provide professional development sessions; have the industry’s only trade show; network; and reward our industry’s highest achievers at our Awards Gala.
The Awards DVD
GSCA is requesting your proposal to produce the DVD for the Awards Presentation to be held the evening of September 25. Below is an outline of the project.
The DVD begins with a one-minute show opener that introduces the host theater, host city, the location, the GSCA Chair and then introduces the MC. Each award category includes an intro highlighting all of the category’s nominees, the announcement of the winner, and a short montage of the winning film footage or marketing campaign highlights. Award categories are approximately 30 seconds each. There is also a film montage of about 15 films set to music that is approximately 2 minutes. The final DVD has approximately 25 chapters and typically involves a total of about two weeks of work over the course of two months. Some coordination hours will be required in July, with a more aggressive schedule in August, and the work completed during the first week of September.
The DVD will be produced in standard definition with a stereo audio track. There may be a desire to go to HD quality and the proposal should include if there would be a difference in the rate to render it as such.
The steps generally followed in putting together this DVD are as follows:
- Obtain award categories from the GSCA (approximately 11)
- The GSCA collects materials relevant to the DVD
- Redesign and update the animation and graphics
- The GSCA reviews animation and graphics and overall look of the presentation with the GSCA
- The GSCA collects materials from nominees
- GSCA writes and revises script
- Select voice for voiceover with GSCA’s approval
- Build piece and add voiceover
- Post segments for GSCA review
- Assemble segments onto DVD
- Test DVD with GSCA’s input
- Ship four show copies to the GSCA by September 15
A copy of last year's DVD can be made available for review during the RFP process if desired.
